How to Use Bright Colors In Your Song Slides, Pt 2.

We’ve conquered the bright background with only two colors, but what if the background has three or more colors on it? Let’s see what we can do! 🙂

This design involves a gradient background for the additional text box instead of one solid color and no outline.  Also, notice that the text box is off to the left and not centered. This was done so that the text box could blend with the background while still helping the text stand out. Tricky, I know. 😉

So here are the steps to creating the look shown above. I’m using a still from the Over the Rainbow Collection by Playback Media.

  • Create a new Song Theme in EasyWorship.
  • Open the Inspector.
  • Add the Over the Rainbow 3 Still as a background.
  • Resize the text box to fit the text.
  • Add another text box.
  • Resize the additional text box to be larger than the actual text box, but smaller than the background as shown above.
  • Move both text boxes to the left side. Notice that the additional text box is even hanging over the edge on the left. You can do this or line up the additional text box up with edge. The point is for the right side of the additional text box not to cross into the green. If that happens, the pink and the green will end up making a brown color that won’t look great on your screen.
  • Select the additional text box and, in the Inspector, select Fill under Element. As seen below, select Gradient Fill.
  • For the Gradient Style, click on the arrow for the drop down menu and go to first style listed under “Vertical”.
  • Select the purple and pink colors as shown below, followed by the angle of 0.

  • Adjust Opacity to 39.
  • For the text, I removed the outline and adjust the shadow to the specs below.

And that’s how to make a tri-colored background work for your worship service. We’ve got one more tutorial for you. I hope this has been a help to you when you design your own backgrounds. Thanks for reading!
