I don’t know about you, but the song Silent Night is hitting me differently this year. A night of peace and heavenly sleep with a promise of hope and wonder for the next year is something that I think we could all use.
So in honor of that aspiration, I pulled together 4 videos from our media store that just might give you a sense of a peaceful, silent night, because I feel like we’ve lost a bit of that through 2020. Before we move forward, take a moment to listen to this beautiful version of Silent Night by Lauren Daigle that will put you in the Christmas spirit before you browse this list.
Now on to the mini movies…
1) Immanuel by Shift Worship
Between the use of the stained glass animation and the haunting version of “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel”, this movie just captures my attention with beautiful visuals and an inspiring message.
2) A Thrill of Hope: Christmas by Pixel Preacher
Telling the Christmas story from Genesis to the gospels, this short mini movie uses constellations of stars to illustrate the importance of that night when Jesus was born. It highlights the beauty of the night sky and the hope that can come in our darkest moments.
3) A Baby Is Comin’ by Igniter Media
Using simple images and dramatic narration, this mini movie takes us through the feeling of desolation that God’s people must have felt waiting on Jesus’ arrival. The prophets were gone. The monarch on the throne did not treat them kindly. But still… God was there. He was coming. And that is the hope we cling to – He is here with us though we do not feel him near all the time.
4) Grace In A Manager by Freebridge Media
With beautiful gold letterings over a night sky, this mini movie takes you through the amazing impact of Jesus’ birth in our lives. He gave us hope in the midst of a fallen world. He gave us grace when we thought everything was lost. He gave us light when we were in darkness.
I hope one of these videos speak to you and will be a great encouragement to your church this Christmas season. May we all find a little peace this Christmas.
