A New Simple Song Design for Fall

Fall is upon us and with it comes golds, reds, oranges and browns. Let’s talk about adding those colors into your media library.

We have a lot of options in our Media Store. Some backgrounds are nature oriented, some backgrounds focus on the colors of fall and some bring lively animation to the beauty of leaves falling. It’s a really fun season to play with when creating your church media. The colors are warm and inviting and they make your place of worship feel welcoming to new visitors.

Just remember to balance your colors well. Reds and oranges can get a bit overwhelming with text. Make sure to use your color selector in the Inspector and either lighten or darken the reds and oranges you use. It keeps it in the same color scheme without making it hard for people to read.

And of course, I have an example of a simple fall design. 🙂

For this example, I’m using the Woodfields Lined motion by Shift Worship.

I love this new Fall collection from Shift Worship. It combines nature with abstract in a simple design. Let’s do this!

Create a new Song Theme in EasyWorship.

Open the Inspector.

Add the Woodfields Lined motion as a background.

Resize the text box to fit the text as shown in the image below.

Add another text box by selecting the “Text” button on the top bar.

Resize the additional text box to fit the just beyond the original text box. If you notice in the picture above, I have the two text boxes space pretty close. If you wish to remove the text for this additional text box to make it easier to work with, just double click and press the space bar. Keeps the “Double Click to Enter” from showing up.

Open Inspector.

Select the additional text box, and then go to Inspector and select “Border” under Element.

For the Border Style, select Center.

1. For the Color, select Orange (2^nd row, 2^nd column)
2. For the Join, select Square. (Join just specifies how the borders are joined)
3. Position is good as is.
4. Adjust size to 21 and Opacity to 75.

With Inspector still open, select the actual text box where the lyrics will go.

In Inspector, select “Outline” under Text and remove the outline.

Select “Font” under Text and adjust the following:

• Change the Font to Headline One
• Keep Size at Auto.
• Select the drop down menu for Color and then select More Colors.

• Enter these numbers in to get the light peach tone I used for this background
  • Hue: 16
  • Sat: 240
  • Lum: 219
  • Red: 255
  • Green: 228
  • Blue: 210
• Select “Add to Custom Colors” and hit “Ok”.
• Back to Inspector, select “Bold” for Style, if it’s not already selected.
• Everything else should be as is.

Close Inspector, name this new Theme, and select OK. You’re finished!

Again with this design and with any design that I share with you, feel free to adjust spacing, opacity, shadows, color or anything that you think will make this more readable for your house of worship.
