The state of Design at EasyWorship

Exciting things are happening here at EasyWorship, especially in the area of Design (which is near & dear to my heart, of course). We’re in the process of re-designing everything you think of as EasyWorship, bringing a more professional and approachable aesthetic to things. For example, in March we launched the new EasyWorship.com with a modernized look & updated architecture, more helpful product info, improved help section AND our new Media store. You’ll soon see an even more updated look as we launch EasyWorship 2009 and add new features and improvements to the Media store (version 2.0).

We’ve also been very busy with EasyWorship 2009. In the next few posts I’ll be unveiling the new interface and explain the how & why behind the UI improvements. We’ve streamlined elements of the UI and are introducing new features we know you’ll be excited about. Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be seeing soon:

  • Updated icons throughout
  • Updated UI with layout improvements and a modernized look/feel
  • Updated UI controls for Video, DVD and Feeds
  • Native UI elements for both XP and Vista
  • UI for the new features

Check back soon.  We know you’ll like what you see.

Is there a way to add a comment count to the home page of the blog and also the sub-category pages?

On the homepage for example, the link to the blog post could include the number of comments – “Foldback finished! (3)”

Perhaps the “comments” ID from each blog post could also be located on the sub-category page, next to the “Read Post” arrow.

Good suggestion. We plan on making some tweaks to the blog soon, and this is a great idea.

    Thanks for the feedback.

It would also be helpful if there was some sort of (opt-in) way to be notified of comments after your comment on a blog post.

For example, I didn’t know that you had replied to my comment until I came back to the post.

Lachlan, we’ve just updated the blog w/ your comment idea. You’ll now see the number of comments listed on the homepage and anywhere you see a summary view of a post (category pages, tags, search results, etc.).

    Excellent idea.

Small update. We set it up so that our little avatars are added beside our comment replies. So that it’s easy to see which replies are coming from official EasyWorship folks. Hope this makes comments & replies easier to read.

I absolutely can’t wait to use this new software. However, are us 2007 users going to have to pay an upgrade fee? We didn’t have to with 2006 being upgraded with 2007. And when can i expect to be able to use this software is there an ETA? SOON Hopefully!!

    Hi Team,
You guys have made Easyworship what it is today. Kudos to you all.

We have been using Easy Worship since 2004. Its been a blessing.

Now as we gear up for 2009 EW, I am looking forward for some really mind blowing concepts to come in.
I always wanted to do something of this sort:

Is there any way we do whats there in those videos. I know that they are pre programmed stuff, but for example in the Blessed be the Lord video, If I want to highlight certain words like in the video, how can I do it.
Leave apart the backgrounds. I just want those kind of text effects.

Please try to put this in EW.

    Looking forward for your reply.

Though it may not be in the intial release of EasyWorship 2010, the engine is designed to do that, so at some point you would be able to create an IWorship type experience right in EasyWorship.

Not sure if this feature already exists in EW. But, can a countdown timer be added in the foldback screen? It would be nice if we can set a different time (ie. 2 mins for first slide, 5 mins for another slide, etc) for each slide. We are trying to manage the time for each part of our service and a countdown timer for each slide/part of the service will help remind those on stage how much time they have left.

Where do I find documentation on the Video Jockey mode?
It is not obvious how to use it in Beta 2 release.
